Project description:
The "Off Grid Cabin" project, situated in Foster, Victoria, emerges as a tranquil retreat nestled within the serene landscapes of regional Victoria. Commissioned by a client seeking to capitalise on the burgeoning interest in regional getaways, this endeavour aims to create an exclusive Airbnb experience on their expansive plot of land. Designed as a fully off-grid sanctuary, the cabin seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings, utilising the client's abundant rainwater tank and septic system sourced from the main house. The project brief emphasised the creation of a high-end cabin, offering guests a luxurious escape from urban life. To ensure resilience against bushfire risk, BAL-rated timber was selected for the facade, providing both safety and aesthetic appeal. Internally, ecologically clean materials such as plywood were utilised, reflecting a commitment to sustainability and enhancing the cabin's warm and inviting atmosphere. The "Off Grid Cabin" epitomises the harmonious blend of luxury, sustainability, and tranquillity, offering guests an unforgettable retreat amidst the beauty of regional Victoria.
